Member Spotlight: Heather Hruskocy, DMD, Owner & Dentist, The Smile Loft
Lake/Forest Lake Bluff Chamber: Tell us a little bit about The Smile Loft and the services you provide?
HH: The Smile Loft is a privately owned dental office offering all aspects of adult dentistry with a focus on cosmetics and family care. The Smile Loft team provides a warm, judgement free approach to patient care while addressing each patient’s individual concerns. We have been overwhelmed by the welcoming response from our patients and are thrilled to be trusted by the people of Lake Forest and surrounding areas for their dental needs.
LF/LB: What was your inspiration to open your practice in our community?
HH: I decided to invest in Lake Forest because this community holds a special place in my heart. Growing up here provided me with invaluable experiences and memories that shaped who I am today. My dental journey started in Lake Forest while working with Dr Derek Bock and Dr Anohki Bock at Forest Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry as one of their first employees. After successfully completing dental school and working at a dental office in the city of Chicago for 10 years, I was looking for a space to start my own office. The Bock’s success and involvement in the Lake Forest community inspired me to come back to my roots and open a brand-new office here geared towards serving adults. My husband and I have loved raising our kids in Lake Forest thus far and hope to grow our family and The Smile Loft here.
LF/LB: What is your vision or hope for the future of your business?
HH: My hope is to continue to grow the office while maintaining the same level of patient care. After practicing for ten years I have managed to stay true to my approach of treating patients to the highest standard. My patients can attest that I am honest, judgment free, and take a soft approach to handling their concerns. I enjoy working with other dental colleagues and I would love to have another dentist join me one day too!
LF/LB: How does The Smile Loft get involved in or support our community?
HH: Being a new small business in Lake Forest, I am looking to find new ways to get involved in the community. We have been providing quality dental care to the Lake Forest community for almost 2 years already. We have donated to a number of local fundraisers helping local families. I hope to have more time to get involved by sponsoring local events and providing dental education to different groups throughout the community.
LF/LB: Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or your practice?
HH: Owning a small business while having two toddlers at home has not come without its challenges but having the support of my family and amazing patients has made it all worth it. Dental care is very important to our overall health and The Smile Loft strives to provide an environment that people can feel comfortable in while being treated. We are growing by the day mostly from the internal referrals of patients spreading the word to their friends, families, and coworkers - this is why Lake Forest is such a great community!
